Product Release Notes: Introducing Global Web Translation

We’re excited to introduce Global Web Translation, a powerful new feature that translates relevant web content in Fama reports. This enhancement expands our ability to support customers with global candidates and international web content, increasing coverage from a wider range of sources.

How It Works

  • Automated Translation: Web articles are scanned, and when a supported non-English language is detected, the content is automatically translated into English.
  • Translation Indicator: A globe icon and a "Translated from [language]" label will appear on translated articles.
  • Display on Reports:
    • On the Web Application: Translated text appears in the report summary, with an option to click “Show Original Language” to view the content in its original form.

  • In PDF Reports: Both the translated and original text are included for full transparency.
  • Supported Languages: The feature translates content in over 50 languages. Supported languages are featured below.

Supported Languages

Afrikaans, Arabic, Bulgarian, Bengali, Catalan, Czech, Welsh, Danish, German, Greek, Spanish, Estonian, Persian, Finnish, French, Gujarati, Hebrew, Hindi, Croatian, Hungarian, Indonesian, Italian, Japanese, Kannada, Korean, Lithuanian, Latvian, Macedonian, Malayalam, Marathi, Nepali, Dutch, Norwegian, Punjabi, Polish, Portuguese, Romanian, Russian, Slovak, Slovenian, Somali, Albanian, Swedish, Swahili, Tamil, Telugu, Thai, Tagalog, Turkish, Ukrainian, Urdu, Vietnamese, Zhuang, and Taiwanese Hokkien.

Important Notes

  • Web articles written in a supported language that are matched to a candidate are automatically translated into English and added to your reports when an article:
    • Contains one or more of our 8 types of misconduct.
    • Mentions the candidate in any type of litigation, investigation or mentions anything job related
  • To screen for a specific type of misconduct in a non-English language, you must add appropriate keywords in that language to your Behavior Kits
  • Short articles containing just a few sentences or articles that contain mixed languages may not be translated.

Who Does This Impact?

Fama Essential and Plus customers will have access to this feature at no additional cost. 360 customers who receive Plus reports will also have this feature included in their reports at no additional cost.
